CMFA Joins SCLARC’s Efforts to Revitalize the Corner of Adam Blvd. & Western Avenue in Los Angeles
South Central Los Angeles Regional Center for Persons with Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (SCLARC) is a private, non-profit, community based organization which contracts with the State Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. From their 21 Regional Centers, SCLARC fulfills their mission of providing quality services which will enable their clients to lead richer, fuller lives.
Recently the CMFA became part of a partnership working to revitalize the corner of Adams Blvd. and Western Avenue in Los Angeles, CA. The Legacy Plaza project will encompass the historic Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Building which will be rehabilitated and a new office complex built on the parking lot north of the property. Together, the dual structures will provide more than 100,000 square feet of office space for SCLARC’s 250 employees and 100 consultants. SCLARC’s supporters hope that the visibility of Legacy Plaza in the Adams/Western Corridor will increase public awareness regarding special needs and give SCLARC added opportunity to outreach to the community while also reflecting the regional center’s core values of fostering an open and inclusive environment.
