CMFA Financings Enable $47,500 in Contributions to California Non-Profits
The CMFA continues to give back to the communities in California by directing a portion of its issuance fees to charitable organizations. There were several non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations that received grants an aggregate total of $47,500 from the California Foundations for Stronger Communities with funds donated by the CMFA.
The deserving organizations include:
White Memorial Medical Center Charitable Foundation supports White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. The non-profit is a faith-based, teaching hospital, which provides a full range of inpatient, outpatient, emergency and diagnostic services to communities in and near downtown Los Angeles. The entire donation helps cover the medical bills for the less fortunate that are unable to pay for their medical treatments.
Carols by Candlelight is a spectacular family Christmas concert in San Diego. Over its 23 year history, Carols by Candlelight features both pop and country stars singing Christmas Carols along with their biggest hits. The net proceeds benefit Rady Children’s Hospital. CFSC’s donation purchases tickets for veterans and their families to attend this seasonal event.
Grace Land is an Anaheim-based organization serving people with disabilities since 1999. Grace Land offers multiple services and advocacies including education, advocacy and counseling programs.
La Familia Counseling Center has been providing services to at-risk youth and families in the Sacramento region for over 38 years. Their counseling, support services and programs are designed to help families to first overcome adversity. Staff works to help their clients to empower themselves and succeed. Their programs touch all aspects of family life and include Birth & Beyond, Career Center, Mental Health Services, and Project Reach which serves At-Risk youth program designed for youth considering gang affiliation or of dropping out of school.
