CMFA Financings Enables $130,000 in Contributions to California Non-Profits
The CMFA continues to give back to the communities in California by directing a portion of its issuance fees to charitable organizations. A total of ten non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations received $130,000 total in grants from the California Foundations for Stronger Communities with funds donated by the CMFA.
The ten deserving organizations include:
Saint John’s Health Center Foundation supports Saint John’s Health Center provides leading-edge health services with compassion and personalized care. The Santa Monica-based health center is nationally recognized for their core competencies in cardiac care, oncology, orthopedics and women’s health.
Sonrisas Community Dental Center provides dental care and related health education to low income residents of the coastal region of San Mateo County. Last year the non-profit provide dental services to over 1500 patients in the region.
Intervention Center for Early Childhood or ICE Kids serves over 600 special needs children and their families annually. Through ICE Kids efforts each developmentally delayed child they serve is able to achieve their optimum developmental potential.
Harbor Houseprovides a wide range of programs that help low income residents of Oakland lead productive lives. For the last 38 years Harbor House has provided the people they serve with an opportunity to reach their potential.
Esalen is a leading center for exploring and realizing human potential through experience, education, and research. Located on 120 acres in Big Sur, California, the organization has long been known for its research initiatives, invitational conferences, residential work-study programs, and long-term internships.
Naval Special Warfare Family Foundationprovides both financial and emotional support to the spouses and families of active and fallen Navy Seals.
The Women’s Center of San Joaquin County is a major provider of crisis intervention services to women and children escaping domestic violence and sexual assault in San Joaquin County. Their goal is to serve and empower victims, raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, dispel myths and misconceptions, and reduce violence in the communities they serve.
Courageous Connectionsprovides the foster children in the Sacramento region and their caregivers with the support needed to improve the foster child’s long term outcome.
The Illumination Foundation is an Orange County based non-profit. Through their comprehensive approach the Illumination Foundation works to reduce the impacts of homelessness and reduce people’s vulnerability to future homelessness.
SOVA Community Food & Resource Programresponds to hunger in the community by providing individuals and families with the resources they need to regain self-sufficiency and independence.
REACH OUT Worldwide (ROWW) is a non-profit organization based in Santa Barbara, California. Formed in 2010, by a group of good friends with EMT and paramedic training who have a genuine passion and desire to aid disaster victims. Often, ROWW volunteers are among the first responders at the site of disaster.
